2888 IBM iSeries HSL-2/RIO-G 2 Copper Ports feature provides an HSL-2/RIO-2 adapter and installs in the iSeries system unit. The 2888 provides two copper ports for attaching one HSL-2 loop for external connectivity of iSeries I/O expansion drawers and towers. The IBM iSeries 2888 is inserted in the GX slot and does not use a PCI slot.
The 2888 is supported on the following IBM iSeries systems: 9405-520, 9406-520 and 9406-525
The 2888 is only available in used/refurbished condition as of 2009.
Note: When viewed from the HMC, the HSL/RIO-G adapter slots can be generically identified only with the characters GX Adapter Card, rather than a feature number.
